PLEASE READ: The Praxis mail order intends to concentrate as much on back catalogue items as it does with new releases. As avid music fans ourselves we have always had problems with getting our hands on “that great release from a few years ago”, so we intend to give as much time, effort and space to those releases as we do with new releases. We intend covering many genres of music, from Punk, Metal and Reggae to Traditional Irish and even Classical. Genres of music we will not deal with are commercial chart orientated or dance music/techno. Got something??? Let us know... PLEASE READ: For new releases we will insist they arrive to us a minimum of 3 working days prior to release date to ensure that our customers receive their order on the release date.

Promotion wise, we have links to an ever increasing supply of reviewers from magazines, fanzines and ezines all over the globe, whom we continually supply with information on the releases we deal with... This website receives many hits as we continually promote the Praxis music site on the internet... Co-op ads can be arranged as well and we will start approaching suppliers with ideas in time.

The goal for the mail order is to represent on this website the best of music of many genres. At present we send out a monthly email of new releases to subscribers which has proved very, very successful and we wish to, while continuing to send the monthly email, represent these releases better with a web presence to aid with promotion AND to give our present customers more detailed information on the releases should they want it... We also hope to increase the amount of suppliers we deal with to better represent different genres and countries/regions.

PLEASE READ: Our favoured terms are sale or return but we are flexible.

Also note that the mail order is a very recent addition and our goal is to sell 10's of copies per release rather than hundreds...

For bands, labels, distributors who are on a smaller budget, maybe not so well known, part-time etc... releases that require some kind of promotion to let people know who you are.

Send a brief email to include release dates, prices, shipping costs and an address on the internet we can access further information and listen to MP3s... please do not send mp3s via email unless we specifically ask for them (straight to the bin otherwise)... We will then get in touch if we feel we can sell some of your releases... (Please be patient as we get a lot of emails). music@praxisireland.com.

If you do not have a website with relevant information, you will need to send us some information and a copy of the release via post. Email us first and we will provide you with postal and contact details. music@praxisireland.com.

PLEASE READ: For bands or labels with a limited promotion budget we need to provide you with some extra promotion. We have come up with a plan that not only will raise your sales from this site but will go towards getting you further known elsewhere. A small but workable idea that gets your releases “out there” and noticed by more people not to mention noticed by other mail orders, record labels, distributors, whatever...

PLEASE READ: The amount of time, effort and space we give to each release is determined, not by advertising or promotion budget, nor by image, but by the quality of songs on the release. Simply put, you could have the three ugliest, laziest, good for nothings who have never played a gig in their lives, but if their album is good it will find a decent place on the Praxis mailorder, simple as that... we do our own small promotion to help get your name out there...

PLEASE READ: We prefer to take your releases on a sale or return basis. Basically, you send us your release and when we sell one we pay you for it. We are flexible in this area and can bend to suit your terms if need be.

PLEASE READ: Regards prices, please be realistic. Over the years we have run into small independent record labels (especially in the punk scene) that preach poverty but are in fact raking in the cash and not paying bands, not contributing to recording costs and not paying for in any way adequate promotion. We will not deal with these record labels. If you sell us a CD wholesale for $7 we would expect that the band are being paid their mech royalty, you have contributed to recording costs AND you are paying for, at least, some adequate promotion.
